UniTrak has been manufacturing bucket elevators and other processing and packaging equipment for food and chemical industries since 1969.

Our corporate motto, striving to exceed our customers' expectations, is derived from our mission statement. It came about as a result of strategic planning meetings held by the owners and employees of our company. This planning lead to our ISO9001 registration in 1995. ISO9001 registration involves planning and implementing policies and procedures for all of us to follow, to ensure that we know what our customers' expect, and that they are totally satisfied with us, and the products that we supply them. This process starts at the inquiry/sales stage; and follows through the design & engineering process; production and fabrication; installation and service.

Here at UniTrak, we have adopted a team approach. Working together with our representatives, and suppliers, we continually strive to exceed expectations, by encouraging sharing of ideas, promoting ongoing R & D, and developing strong ties between individuals.

Our main products are TipTrak, an interlocking bucket elevator, and the Efficia line of case packers. TipTrak is a bucket elevator like no other! Interlocking buckets eliminate spillage, because they never separate, even on the vertical run. "Repair downtime" is reduced because there are few moving parts. Our chain is rubber, molded around stainless steel aircraft cable. It is strong, corrosion and chemical resistant and is quiet (unlike the roller chain used on standard/pivoting bucket elevators). TipTrak is suitable for many food and chemical products, from hazardous powders and granules to frozen French fries.

We started manufacturing Efficia case packers in 1990. They are used for packing flexible bags or individual items into set up cases. The Efficia 100/200 is a random case packer. It counts bags of product, such as institutional packs of coffee, tea, cereal, etc. and feeds them into the case. Once the correct count is reached, the Efficia automatically discharges the full case, and positions the next one to receive product (without interrupting the flow of product from the form/fill/seal machine). Efficia 300 is a specialty packer used mostly for "freezie pops". Flexible bags that need to be oriented in layers, in the case are packed using our Efficia 400 series. For example, bags of confectionery, frozen vegetables, birdseed to name just a few.

Located in Port Hope, Ontario, we supply equipment and parts to companies throughout the United States, Canada, South America, and Asia. UniTrak Powderflight Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary is located in the UK and manages and supplies the European market.

Bucket Elevators

Unique interlocking bucket design virtually eliminates spillage

The remarkable TipTrak utilizes a unique interlocking bucket system that offers distinct benefits. The extra deep buckets and jam-proof design ensure spill-free loading, conveying and discharge of a wide range of products.

TipTrak runs horizontally and vertically without transfer points -- no chance for product loss due to spillage and/or breakage. And its small footprint saves valuable floor space.

Built to last

The rugged, heavy duty design has allowed some UniTrak customers to operate their TipTraks almost continuously for more than 20 years.

TipTrak operates well:

A Superior design for more gentle and reliable product handling

TipTrak is a bucket elevator capable of running horizontally and vertically, or at any angle in between from a single drive. The plastic buckets are truly interlocking and never separate. This feature is achieved by means of the joint strip which connects each bucket.

The heart of the TipTrak design is the patented TipTrak chain. This is elastomer (BUNA-N/neoprene) molded around and bonded to a stainless steel aircraft cable core. Similar to a timing belt in design, it has positive drive. With the stainless steel cable core (which is pre-stressed at the time of molding to eliminate elongation), the TipTrak drive belt combines all of the advantages of a chain -- strength and positive drive -- with the benefits of a belt -- no moving parts -- and the corrosion resistance and long life of the elastomer. This unique design eliminates the need for sprockets except at the drive end. At all the other points the chain runs in a flanged pulley much like a V-belt in a sheave.

What are the advantages to you?

By running horizontally and vertically without transfer points, your product can move from one process to another without spillage, degradation, dusting or segregation of blended products.

The interlocking buckets ensure that there is no spillage at the infeed, and because the buckets never separate, even on a vertical lift, the only place your product leaves the buckets is at the discharge. Even here the TipTrak design allows for a gentle cascading of product, further reducing degradation.

The TipTrak chain means you combine the long wearing features of elastomer with the strength of stainless steel cable. There are no roller chains to stretch and no bushings to wear out. In fact, there are no moving parts in the TipTrak chain. There’s no more fiddling with chain tensioners, no more periodic tension adjustment. The TipTrak chain runs slack, and tension adjustments never need resetting after installation (some very large units over 100 ft. high may need attention after the first few weeks of operation).

You get the gentlest possible handling with your product traveling undisturbed once in the TipTrak. And the non-metallic construction means a sanitary and corrosion-resistant bucket elevator that operates quietly with no clanging metal buckets and roller chains. In short, the unique TipTrak construction means the gentlest handling, the least spillage, the lowest possible maintenance, and the quietest operation of any mechanical elevating device.
